Brandi Enjoli Walker & Charles Frank Best Tie the Knot
Alsip, IL—Brandi Enjoli Walker and Charles Frank Best were married Sunday, May 27, 2018 at The Château Bu-Sché – Alsip, Illinois. The Rev. Charles Best Sr. performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Ms. Gail Hawkins of Chicago, Illinois. The groom is the son of Charles Best Sr. and Patricia Simmons of Pennsauken, New Jersey and Silvis, Illinois respectively.
Presented in marriage by George Simmons and Reginald Peterson Sr. the bride was attended by TaTanesha Thomas and Micheal Peterson, as matrons of honor and by Margrette Sanders, as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Zjacobe Jackson, Tomica Brooks, Lajuana McGruder, and Eselina Givens. Junior bridesmaids were Wynter Hawkins and Shenea Best.
Kenneth Best was the best man.
Groomsmen were Derek Jackson, Ralph Portwood, Mark Rahimi, Tyler Howard, Willard Hart and Herbert Hughey. Junior groomsmen were Devon Best and Isaiah Walker.
A reception was held at The Château Bu-Sché – Alsip, Illinois.
Brandi’s Story
Brandi Enjoli Walker was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 7 and raised in California for a part of her life. Raised by her mother Gail Hawkins she attended Curie High School for the Performing Arts. At Curie she met her friends Kaiisha, Breonda, Eboni, and Jennifer who remain her best friends to this day.
She attended and graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale where she majored in Psychology and enjoyed classes in Religion, African American Psychology and French.
Her son Isaiah Zyon Walker was born In November 2002 and for many years it was just the two of them. Isaiah was the best thing that ever happened for Brandi and she wanted to give her son the best life could offer. Together they traveled, loved to read and visit museums. Brandi began working for the State of Illinois in September of 2008 and continues today.
Outside of working Brandi enjoys playing cards, board games and bowling. The best times in her life have been spent with her family and friends. She met Charles in March of 2010 and their daughter Charly Monroe Best entered the world on Mother’s Day 2011.
Brandi enjoys cooking dinner for her family and seeing her children smile. Now that her family is complete the best times of her life are just beginning.
Charles’ Story
Charles was born, in Philadelphia, July 2nd to Patricia and Charles Best Sr. and has one brother Kenny and two sisters Barbara and Shaleese. He attended United Township High School in East Moline Illinois and after High School Charles joined the United States Army where he reached the rank of Sergeant.
Charles was an Air Assault qualified Para Trooper and spent the majority of his tour at Little Rock, Arkansas where he attended jump school, and trained light infantry forces. After his tour in 1993 he found his dream career within the State of Illinois and has been there for the past twenty-five years.
Affectionately known as “Chucky” to his friends he enjoys playing and watching sports and partaking in his favorite pastime, barbecuing.
Charles’ 1st child, Shenea Best, was born In May 1999 followed by Tamia December 2002, Devon May 2004 and finally Charly May 2011. Charles’ takes pride in his children and loves seeing and spending time with them most of all. Charles’ favorite holiday is his birthday party every year where he gets to host and entertain his many family members and friends.
Chucky met Brandi in March 2010 in what he recalls as the best day of his life. When he saw this beautiful angel walking his way he knew it was his future wife. Charles and Brandi have decided to tackle this thing called life together and make the most of it with their blended family.
The newlyweds reside in Joliet, Illinois.
